Soprano Callie Cooper is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Opera Performance at Wichita
State University. She most recently portrayed Hester Prynne in Lori Laitman’s opera The Scarlet
Letter at Wichita State in 2022. In Fall 2021, Ms. Cooper sang Arminda in a concert version of La
finta giardiniera at WSU. Also in 2021, she was awarded second place in Thursday Musical’s
annual Young Artist competition and first place in the Winston Vocal Scholarship from the
National Society of Arts and Letters. She graduated with a Bachelors of Music in Vocal
Performance from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in 2021. For two seasons, Ms.
Cooper was a Scholar with Berkshire Choral International. In the 2018-2019 season it was
presented in recital by Opera Susquehanna as part of the Music Gettysburg!. Ms. Cooper was the
2018 First Place Winner of the Glenn Miller Birthplace Society Competition in Clarinda, Iowa.
